Connection, and knowledge sharing.

No More Nowt

Home producer for Peterlee, Stanley and Durham place lab.

No More Nowt works to engage local people in creative activities and grow arts provision in ways that are sustainable and can last. Our mission is that nobody in County Durham is left behind by culture.

We aim to attract more people to choose, create and take part in brilliant art experiences in the places where they live.

We have shared nearly 500,000 creative moments with local people, including over 37,500 chances to participate and shape our programme. This has included over 13,300 hours of activity and collaborations with over 1,500 artists.

Northern Heartlands

Home producer for Shildon, Weardale place labs.

Northern Heartlands is a charity based in County Durham bringing the creativity of artists together with individuals, community groups, schools and partner organisations. Together, we create performances, activities and events that change how people feel about themselves, the places where they live, and what happens there.

We work with people living in the deeply rural areas of Teesdale and Weardale, and with the post-industrial towns and villages of the former Durham coalfield.

Durham County Council

Home producer for City Place lab, and Digital Lab.

Working in towns across County Durham each Place Lab will foster a community-centred approach to culture and regeneration. Hyper-local, place-based activities will boost cultural participation and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and connectivity within and between our communities.

Through collaboration with cultural and creative partners, communities will be empowered to actively engage in decisions shaping the future of their places. Place Labs are being established across the county, complemented by a digital knowledge hub designed to enhance inclusion, connection, and knowledge sharing.

Into the Light

Empowering Communities, Igniting Creativity, Shaping Futures.

Into the Light is a county-wide place-based collaboration designed to drive long-lasting growth in County Durham. It aims to cultivate talent, widen access to creative education, enhance the skills of the cultural workforce, and break down barriers to working in the creative industries.

Into the Light is delivered by a partnership of 10 founding organisations from across County Durham, with funding from Durham County Council, UK Government and Arts Council England.
